Pathways and Ramps

Minimum Unobstructed Width 1000mm. Preferred Unobstructed Width 1200mm. The side slope of paths must be almost level. See (Landings). (These sizes do not include kerbs and handrails so an allowance needs to be made for these obstructions)

Ramps replacing a single stair must be an incline of 1:8, i.e. the horizontal length is 8 times the vertical rise, up to a maximum length of 1520mm. All other ramps must be a maximum slope of
1:14 and have a landing every 9 metres (Preferably every 6 Metres)
